What is a birthday celebration without a bit of drama? Early this afternoon Chris and I, had arranged to meet each other in a local pub to celebrate my birthday. Everything seemed normal, I got my make up on, had my hair done and got out of the door. Suddenly the skies opened and heavy rain was pouring all over the city. My poor umbrella was broken and during my 15 minute walk to the pub the rain paused and started again three times. Needless to say that my make up and hair got ruined as I got soaked to the bone.
We arrived at the pub, ordered our drinks and everything seemed like they had fallen into the right place until the fire alarm started ringing. Chris and I looked each other and started laughing, I mean what else could it have possibly go wrong? We had to follow the orders and evacuate the place, the firemen came to extinguish the fire in the kitchen and after that we were allowed to sit in our table again. Finally everything was as it was supposed to be, I blew the candles, Chris wished me the best and I met a British gent who could speak fluently Greek. Wait that's not something that happens everyday in your life, but I am not talking about an ordinary day, after all it was my birthday! We spent the rest of the evening having a long discussion about past celebrations, summer vacations and future travel plans. Thanks to everyone today I had the most unforgettable birthday celebration. Life is truly a sequence of unexpected events!
P.S: Thanks Chris for the candles and pictures. You rock!
